Single jersey jacquard fabrics are the jacquard fabrics produced by using multiple colors on single plate circular knitting machines or by using a combination of strap loop and skipping movements as one color. The most important difference that distinguishes these knits from other knits is the high pattern creation capacity by selecting the needles separately in the jacquard system. There could be models with different front and back surfaces. One of the biggest advantages is that it can be produced in varied models with the difference of straight and reverse knitting directions.
Single jersey jacquard fabrics can stretch both transversely and longitudinally due to their production method. In terms of the patterns of single jersey fabrics; it is possible to obtain different patterns by using auxiliary knitting elements such as straps and skips. There are many different varieties such as sanded single jersey, ringlet single jersey, lycra ringlet single jersey, boucle single jersey, jacquard single jersey and glitter single jersey. Heavy single jersey fabrics are generally made by using double-layered yarns and produced with high weight. The terms such as 30/2 single jersey and double jersey are also used to define heavy single jersey fabrics in the market. Lycra single jersey fabrics have excellent stretching characteristics. Thanks to these characteristics, they are used in the production of a wide range of products from underwear to evening dresses.
